I think Alltel has the best prepaid plans. You can pay monthly, daily, or by the minute. So I would check Alltel's site.
btw I've saved hundreds of dollars with the Minute plan
$ 85 should by a decent phone.

First make sure that the phone is capable to receive email it may not be seeing as how it is not a camera phone it might not be able to receive picture messages so find that out and it should be the phone number period.

The advertised promotional price for the Blackberry 8220 flip ($ 29.99) is based on activating with a Blackberry data plan on Rogers. You could technically activate with a voice-only plan, but the hardware cost would be lot higher, likely around $ 300.
